Nigüelas is one of the eight municipalities we can find in the Lecrin Valley. It is located on the banks of the Torrente River and at the foot of Mount El Zahor, and it is known as "the Balcony of the Valley" due to its location and spectacular views. Nigüelas is a perfect place to walk through its streets and enjoy the aroma of freshly baked bread, stew, fire, roasted peppers, delighting in its echoes from the past and observing that modernity with respect. Nigüelas is a municipality twinned with music since long ago. Its festivals are of exceptional quality and famous worldwide. It preserves an oil mill from the 15th century, "La Erilla", really well preserved, with a blood mill, a water mill, barns, vessels, presses, lawsuits... It can bee visited by the public. Nigüelas knows how to satisfy the traveler. For this, it has numerous establishments to stay and eat. The Alquería de Los Lentos is one of them. Also, as in the rest of the Lecrín Valley, there are numerous hiking routes, of greater or lesser difficulty, all of them well-cared for and perfectly signposted, as is the case of the Pavilla route. It is a pleasure to savor the Valley in each program, finding out what it tastes like, realizing its details, its cleanliness, its natural character, its multiculturalism... its Culture.
