The old washing houses of Pinos del Valle, have been restored as a sample of the uses and customs of the people that have already passed into history due to technological advances.
Lavadero de Arriba (upper washing house): This washing house is located in the village of El Pinar, and it is called the upper one because this village is divided into two parts and this washing house is located in the upper part.
The washing house was built with smooth stone where the clothes were rubbed, and a wooden roof supported by six brick columns, which protects people who were going to wash the clothes from the sun and the rain.
Before, it was the center of the town where people gathered since it was the only source of natural water. Women took advantage of it to talk, wash their clothes, etc... Now it is only used to fill water bottles.
Lavadero de Abajo (lower washing house): Located in the lower quarter it is still used by some older women for what it was conceived for: washing and meeting people.
