INFORMATION

In 1805 the priest certified that, in his parish, there was only one hermitage dedicated to Saint Bias. It was built on the outskirts of the town, on the Camino Real (Horseshoe Path) that led from Granada to the Alpujarra. Hence, its cover is directed precisely in the direction of the aforementioned communication channel. Later, around the middle of the 19th century it was decided that the new road, already prepared for carriages, would pass behind the hermitage.

The hermitage offers one of the most endearing images for the Durqueños. Now it embellishes what has become the main entrance to the town.
