El Pinar has been declared a gastro-healthy municipality by Diputación of Granada and in "Gastronomic Experiences" we are going to find out why. On this occasion we stayed at Casabela, a charming and elegant rural tourism house focused on art, where we will also cook one of the most representative dishes of the Valley; the remojon (a local salad with oranges).
We are going to discover the Cristo del Zapato and its history, the Tablate bridge, which witnessed so many bloody battles. We will have tapas in the Bar Venecia; we will learn from the manager of the San Roque cooperative; the "lechin" olive trees typical of the area; we will taste their juice, and we will understand the reasons for their qualities. Likewise, we are going to learn about the illustrious past of Pinos and how this municipality continues to produce great personalities. And we are going to visit the best artisan butcher shop in the land and, of course, we will be delighted with its wonderful products accompanied by bread and local wine, as it should be.
