Year after year, the Fiesta del Mosto in Cónchar, triumphs.
On Sunday 6th January, from 12 noon onwards, the first fiesta of the year is celebrated in the Lecrin Valley - La Fiesta del Mosto in the charming village of Cónchar.
The Fiesta del Mosto in Cónchar has been celebrated since 1984. On the following link www.conchar.com you can find out more about this fiesta.
The small producers of the village donate the wine and it is handed out in the square to everyone who wants to taste it, free of charge. The only requirement is that the "taster" must buy a glass. On the spot he can get a nice glass or a ceramic jug from Granada, which will become a nice souvenir of this festival. The wine is accompanied by a generous tapa of "remojón", a typical salad of Cónchar.
Calling wine "must" should not mislead us, it is normal to call must the wine without fermentation or alcohol, although our must is fermented, just for two months and it does have alcohol.
Before starting the party, you can do one of the beautiful routes in Cónchar, to get some exercise, enjoy the views and get your appetite started.
